Favorite Pre-Fall 2013 Look

I have an undying and unconditional love for all things Alexander McQueen. He truly was a revolutionary man with impeccable taste and a crazy, Van Gogh-like mind. I believe Sarah Burton is doing justice to his name with these designs. They are close to what I think we would have seen if McQueen was still around, may he rest in peace.

It is opulent, elegant, with just a hint of that dark mysteriousness we usually see in his clothing. While it is not ready to wear, if given the opportunity, I would rock these looks.

The draping and the way the clothing flows just makes my heart stop and I sigh in wonder. Clothing truly is an art and these two are art pieces. You might not be able to wear the whole look together, but the dresses and the shawls separately would be magnificent. The colors are the perfect transition into fall with just enough weight to the fabric.

Burton has certainly taken her inspiration from early time periods as I see a bit of Middle Age influence in them. I can’t stop staring at these two outfits. It only transports me back to when I first heard of McQueen and saw his designs in the exhibition at the Met. I just wanted to share these two wonderful works of art and I hope you can appreciate them as much as I do!
