Collective Haul: Summer Purchases

Collective Haul

Hello Spices,  I’ve decided to do a haul post since I know a lot of people like seeing what others get and maybe like it so much they would like to know where to purchase it.  (I’ve discovered items this way and I love it).  I will put all my home, fashion, and food purchases.

photo(42)J. Crew Factory: I purchased this item for around $25, which I found to be a steal.  What primarily drew me to this shirt was the silk peter pan collar and cute polka dots.  The polka dots are minimal and lends a nautical feel to the garment because of its dark navy blue background.  I appreciate small details so an added plus was the small zipper that starts from the top and ends only a few inches down on your neck. So cute! I think I can make this work in the transition of summer to fall and in the fall itself.

image(90) image(91)Francesca’s Collections: This serpent cost me about $18 and there was a buy one get one 50% deal.  I purchased my mom some cute silver button studs that she now wears on the regular and I find it suits her well! I will readily admit that I am not big on serpents or snakes but I found this one adorable.  I just liked the look of it on my wrist and it will now be added to my collection of jewelry.

Urban Outfitters: This orange backpack was on sale for $39, down from $69.  I’ve been searching for a cute and large bag that will be able to handle my 12 hour school days.  While the bag isn’t huge, it has tons of pockets and I love the orange color, something I would have never guessed.  Last I checked, it was sold out but it is always possible that it will be restocked.

image(92)C. Wonder: I got 15% off this baby, thanks to my student ID.  It was rather pricey but I wanted to splurge a bit before school began.  I ended up with me paying $39.  I just loved the simple and classic look of it and I know I can wear it with pretty much anything.  This will also be a great addition to my outfits.  This is available here.  Scoop them up while you can!

image(93)Rebecca Minkoff Clutch at TJ Maxx:  I scored this navy blue Rebecca Minkoff clutch at TJ Maxx for a cool $45.  It was originally around 120+ and I got 20% thanks to my friends employee discount.  This clutch was the perfect accompaniment to my roaring 20s look and I find myself reaching for it when I don’t feel like using a purse.  The leather is of great quality and the lining in the inside is navy with black polka dots, very cute! I would suggest scouring your TJ Maxx for Rebecca Minkoff as I have seen quite a bit of her stuff there in recent months.

image(94)ASOS:  This dress was on sale and I got an extra 10% thanks to student discount.  This art deco dress cost me around $45.  I had to go to a 20s event so I bought this dress and another I ended up wearing.  I love this material and it flattered my curves.  This dress is part of the Curve plus-size I have said it multiple times but I will say it again: I am obsessed with England.  That being said, when I spotted this little gem, I had to get it.  I had first seen the Eiffel Tower but I decided to go with my first love.  They have different landmarks and they are all $12.  Cute and functional.  I have this one in my bookcase. If you want to purchase it, click here.

image(95)Modells: I promised myself that I would get in shape, so this was the second item I bought to fulfill my promise.  These shoes were around $45.  I wasn’t crazy about the colors but they ended up growing on me.  They have been a great purchase.  I feel like I am walking on clouds! I’ve been getting a lot of use from these babies. Buy here.

image(96)Urban Outfitters & TJ Maxx: The Beauty and Brains cases come from Urban Outfitters.  They are best friend phone cases and so I gave ‘Beauty’ to my cousin and I kept ‘Brains’ for myself ;D.  The floral Juicy Couture case is from TJ Maxx.  It was a steal at $7 and I love the soft, smooth texture of the case.

image(97)ASOS: This black crossbody was on sale and I got my 10% off student discount.  I believe it came out to $15 in total.  I use it on the regular and I love that it is a fold over, holding a secret little pouch on the inside. It’s a great, inexpensive bag.

image(98)Amazon: This was the first purchase that pushed me to start working out.  It’s a large water bottle with a “secret” compartment in the front.  I purchased this when it was around $12.  The prices fluctuate on the daily so it’s good to keep an eye on it if you want it.  Check it out here.

photo(45)Cynthia Rowley at TJ Maxx:  This, I must admit, was an impulse buy.  But my gosh, it was a great one! This blanket only cost around $15.  It’s super soft and super warm.  I find myself reaching for this whenever I am home and cuddling with it.  It comes in a variety of colors at TJ Maxx.

image(99)Biscoff (Speculoos) Spread: I have been trying to hunt this down for nearly a year and I finally found it at my local supermarket, after they came to their senses.  I like to take a small bit on the tip of a tea spoon and eat some of it.  It tastes like crushed shortbread cookies but I first tried this on belgian waffles, yum.

Joe Fresh for JCP: This Joe Fresh Quilted Top was $19.  The quilted shoulders are beautiful and simple.  You can find it here in navy blue or two other colors.

Gap: These scarves were a gifts from my mother but I will include them here nonetheless.  The scarf on the left is an infinity scarf and the one on the right is a looooong waffle knit scarf.  I think the speckled one will look great with some black leather! Here and here.

Screen Shot 2013-08-22 at 10.25.33 PMNordstrom: I decided to get some new boots this fall and decided on these Steve Madden boots.  They are under $100 so what is not to love!? They are super comfortable and you can dress them up or down. Awesome! Buy here.

What have you splurged on this summer? Let me know if you would like to continue seeing these haul posts. Thanks for reading!

  1. Dylan,
Great haul, I’ll be putting up a haul after I do a bit of shopping in a week or so. Oh and if you like that cookie spread, trader joes has one, well two technically, one is smooth and the other has little bits of those cookie bits.
