Read Your Books and Wear Them Too

IMG_0341I can’t go anywhere without a good book stowed in my bag.  At times, I wish I could show my appreciation of a good book by showing the world.  I didn’t think there would be a way until I found Tori’s store on Etsy.  I stared in awe at her original works of art based on literary novels such as Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre.

You don’t see many things like this and you won’t find it anywhere else.  The scarf is soft and made right in the USA.  I ordered mine back in 2012.  I had managed to snatch up a custom order and asked her if she could make me a Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows scarf.  She asked me which passages I would like and I picked two of my favorites: Ron and Hermione’s kiss and Bellatrix and Mrs. Weasley’s fight.

photo 1(2)I wish I could show you my whole outfit but my camera was not cooperating with the light outside. (Cough, I was just terrible, cough).  The scarf goes with literally any outfit as it is a cream color to match the color of a page you would find in an actually book.  The letters are slightly raised and it gives the scarf dimension and texture.  I am in awe of the wonderful workmanship and can only marvel in Tori’s work.  She is extraordinary!IMG_0340

I am proud to announce a brand new giveaway with sponsor Storiarts.  Both Emma Elise and I will be collaborating for this exciting giveaway.  Tori has generously agreed to let us give away a pair of literary gloves of your choice (whichever is in stock at the time).  These gloves will be perfect for the brisk fall weather and if you happen to be stuck in the subway or bored in a lecture, you could always read them!

No 2 pairs are alike as they are all handmade and may have slight variations, which make it all the better as each fits an individual’s personality and love of books.  So what are you waiting for?!  The giveaway will begin on October 12, 2013 and end on October 31st, 2013 11:59pm.

My favourite phrases to read on a scarf or other pieces of textile would probably come from The Secret History by Donna Tartt, The Accidental Tourist by Anne Tyler or The Great Ideas by Suzanne Cleminshaw. Though it’s difficult to pick favourites when it comes to books. *addict*.

  9. This is awesome! I would choose pride and Prejudice too! My BFF will love it too!
