Ipsy: November 2013

ipsynov2013It’s been a while since I posted and I apologize! With the end of a semester growing nearer, professors feel the need to dump projects and papers onto us.  I did receive my October Ipsy but I never had the change to post it up.  I will try to get it up soon!

IMG_0810Pixi Bronzer:  I love the Pixi brand and it’s something I’ve been continuously getting in my bags.  I don’t mind it because I get to test their products and that is essentially why I got Ipsy in the beginning.  This bronzer is very subtle.  I am usually a golden olive or a bit paler but with the sun hiding more often, I believe I am the palest I have ever been.  I put this to my skin and I could barely see it,which is fine.  It will be a great hint of color without looking dirty.

IMG_0812Be a…bombshell in Hot Damn:  I’ve been getting a lot of these lip color pencils which is great because now I can compare all of them together in a separate post!  This one might be one of the most pigmented ones I have gotten.  I’ve always wanted to wear a red lipstick but I don’t think I am bold enough for it.  I might put it on lightly just for a tinge of color on my lips when I feel like being rebellious.  It’s smooth and quite difficult to get off as it took a good bit of scrubbing to get it off my hand.photo(58)

IMG_0817Em Michelle Phan Sheer Lipstick in Violaceous:  This was the most exciting thing I received in my bag.  I’ve always been an avid watching of Michelle Phan.  I’ve been watching her since I was 14 and I was obsessed with her tutorials.  When I heard that she was launching her own line, I couldn’t help but look.  I was disappointed at how pricey her life palettes were but this full sized lipstick will keep me happy.  This beautiful violet greeted me.  I love wearing deep purples and plums so I was glad I got this color.  I was expecting it to be sheer but when I swatched it on, I was surprised by the beautiful soft color that greeted me.  It’s nowhere as dark as the lipstick itself but it certainly has color to it that you can see.  I will be making good use of this lipstick!

IMG_0818Nailtini nail polish in Caviar Cocktail:  I do love metallics but I am more of a gold person than silver.  This is a great for the holidays as everyone loves to shimmer and glow.  The name is fitting and I really do like the color.  Nailtini isn’t so bad.  I love the long bottle and the long brush. My manicures lasts me about 4-5 days before the first chip as long as you use a really good topcoat.  This nailpolish will look great with some glitter or used as an accent on your nail.

IMG_0814BH Cosmetics Baked Eyeshadow in Eclipse: Ehh. It’s all I can say about this color.  I’m more of a natural kind of girl as far as it goes with my eyeshadow.  I don’t like the bold colors on my lid as I already have a lot of darkness under my eyes.  It just doesn’t work for me especially in such a deep shade of purple.  When I put on makeup, I like to brighten and accentuate, not add more darkness.  While I do enjoy a dark purple lip that’s as far as I go with that color.

IMG_0819Starlooks Eyeliner in Amethyst:  I really liked this color.  It matches the Nailtini polish perfectly.  The only problem with it is that it the moment I pressed it to the paper to show it off, it crumbled.  It made me hesitant to even put it on near my eyes.  It would look great as a top liner but I would have to be careful not to get it in my eyes.  The color is purple and silvery in color with goes with most of the products they sent to me this month.

IMG_0821I kept some of my face charts from my beauty class to show you how the colors look.  Excuse how messy and blurry it is, my camera nor my tools were co-operating.  On the lips is the Be a…bombshell lip pencil and on the cheeks is the Pixi Bronzer,  On the lid is the BH Cosmetics eyeshadow while on the lower waterline and top lip is the Starlooks Eyeliner.

IMG_0823Here you see the Em Michelle Phan lipstick.  I wish I would have done it nicer but I don’t have a lip brush to put it on nicely on the paper so I had to resort using the tube itself.  Did you like what I received? If you have Ipsy, what did you receive?

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, I can’t believe it’s December!
