Too Faced, Three Melted

Too Faced

I’ve previously written about Too Faced ‘Melted’ lipsticks and how overly obsessed I am with them. Well, mid-way through January they decided to expand and add some new shades to the line-up. I grabbed three new shaded and I am super excited to add them to my beauty routine.

Too Faced lipsticksI got three of the newer shades. From the left to the right are: Melted Villain, Melted Chihuahua, and Melted Frosting.

Melted Villain comes up as a deep, dark purple that intrigued me but once I swiped it onto my actual lips, I cringed at what I saw in the mirror. It was messy, sunk into the creases in my lips, and was black. Or so at least it looked like but it was nothing what it was supposed to be. I was trying to apply lightly but the color is so rich and pigmented that it just made me look like I bit into some black ink. It was a hot mess. I’m sure some people can rock this color but not me.

Melted Chihuahua was a slight step up from my natural lip color but it had a bit more pink than my actual lips. It’s a great neutral nude for myself and goes great with my skin tone. This was the keeper and the formula was smooth and didn’t dry my lips.

Melted Frosting is the color any Barbie girl would die Not so much. The colors look great on the screen but once I swiped it on my lips I had to reach for the makeup wipes. It wrong on so many levels. It was too pink for my skin tone. I looked like a Wannabe Nicki Minaj. Nope. Not gonna happen.

So all in all..only 1 out of 3 worked for me, which stinks. I hope that I can return these and try other shades or they develop more shades. I swatched them on my hand but they didn’t look the same like the did on my face. They are gorgeous colors just keep in mind that it is a bit of a gamble buying online.

I am not sure if Sephora has the newer shades in store but I purchased all of mine from Too Faced’s Website.

  1. I love the Melted lipsticks! I have one in Peony and it’s such a perfect shade of pink. The Melted Frosting lipstick looks like a crazy bright version of Peony. Melted Chihuahua looks like a great nude color!
