Valentine’s Day..has met it’s match..Galentine’s Day! Who needs a man to make February 14th special? I wanted to make sure my best friend/soul mate/ sister, etc knew that I appreciated her. What better way to surprise her with a Galentine’s Gift?!
I must admit, I didn’t know how to set this up for her without looking too desperate or sappy. Keds sent me over a pair of Keds of my choosing to give to my best gal pal and gave me the challenge of surprising her. I presented the shoes on the table surrounded by a colorful variety of confetti. I didn’t have any full-size Twizzlers (fail), so I went with some less-than-appealing mini versions and pulled them apart, setting them into an adorable pink mason jar I found at Target.
I wrapped a tag around the laces (also found at Target), a gold heart shaped doily (TARGET), and a little Anthropologie action in the back with the candle to just set the calm and..romantic(?) mood.
I wrote her a little card and set it up. I led her up the stairs and made her close her eyes as I led her into the dining room. When she opened her eyes, I thought she was going to choke from inhaling so deeply. I didn’t expect her to react like she did. She actually cried a little! Sometimes, all you need is a little surprise and gift to know that you are important. Of course, I teased her a bit about crying but I am glad she did. It made both of us super happy!
Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s & Galentine’s Day!
