Pretty Patterns — Styled.

untitled-180Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post. These products were given to me for my honest and unbiased review.  Last time I posted, I wrote about Banana’s new campaign which featured pieces that were versatile and could easily be used for a variety of different scenarios whether it be going to an interview, heading to work, or going out with your friends.

Now, I must admit, when I first received this dress I cringed when I saw it in the bag.  I was worried that one, it would not fit due to the lack of stretch in the material, and two, that I would look to matronly in this print. Boy, how wrong I was. I LOVE this dress. The pattern is perfect at hiding bumps and imperfections and slims down the body. It is also helped by the gathered front, giving the illusion of a pinched waist. I dressed this dress up with some Mary Jane heels as if I were going to an interview, maybe a conference, cause #girlboss. It’s the perfect dress to throw on effortless with minimal accessories. Let the dress do the talking.

Top: TJ Maxx (in store/ old) // Skirt: Banana Republic (exact one here)// Sandals: Isaac Mizrahi (old)

I had been eyeing this skirt online when I found out that Banana was going to be sending me some products. I secretly prayed that they would send me this one since I am a sucker for florals and skirts. Banana delivered and more. I didn’t want to dress this skirt up, even though it would be easy to do so, instead I settled for just throwing on a pair of sandals. The skirt is of great quality and lined so you do not need to worry about it being to sheer. It light, flowy, and super girly which was perfect for the hot summer day. If I wanted to dress it up, all I would need to do is switch out my shoes and throw on a necklace. Easy peasy.

Banana Republic has always been the go to spot for me when I knew I had an important interview coming up. My wardrobe mostly consists of t-shirts, dresses, and lots of jeans, none of which are interview appropriate. A quick trip to Banana always made it simple and easy to find stuff. Of course, back then I was younger and I found the clothing may have made me feel too mature or drab but not this time. I find Banana is finally updating their look a little, allowing us to have a bit of pattern and color to our otherwise normal wardrobes.
