Minnie Vacation: Disney

Sometimes all you need is a good weekend away from home and the hustle and bustle. That is what I did. Between internship, final semester of grad school, home life, and my online work, I needed a break to disconnect and enjoy. My girls and I enjoyed our time in March so we vowed to do it again for Halloween. What better way to get away than a Minnie Vacation at Disney (haha get it? Mini…ok..)

Day One

Susan and I arrived Thursday night to Orlando and made our way to the timeshare we would be sharing with the others.  We made one of the master bedrooms ours and died of happiness on the huge king size bed.  That Thursday night would be spent unpacking, getting comfortable and watching IT (bootleg) and ordering McDonald’s at 2am via UberEats. If that isn’t a great start to a vacation, I don’t know what is.

Friday we got to sleep in as the Halloween party didn’t start until later on in the day. Can you guess what Susan and I dressed as?

Alice and The White Rabbit! It was fun to be able to dress up and trick-o-treat through the park. They managed to FORCE me onto Space Mountain, which, I am still not a fan of.

Not. a. fan. I would rather get on Splash Mountain but alas it was closed 🙁

After we watched the Hocus Pocus show and the parade before that, we headed home for a good nights sleep.

Day 2

The day after the girls and I headed to The Floridian and had a character breakfast at 1900 Park Fare.  The food was good–a bit pricey but it was buffet style and I could meet Alice!

I wore my Alice in Wonderland teapot dress and some Alice in Wonderland Drink Me earrings for the occasion.  I think I was most amused when the little girl at the table next to me kept crying with every character except Pooh.

After this we did a quick outfit change in the car and off we headed to Animal Kingdom.

We spent the day riding the train, meeting Rafiki, getting on Dinosaur, getting a nice drink, and waiting on line for 3000 hours for Flight of Passage. It broke down while we were on line..and we probaby waited three hours. We finally got to the top into our room..and it broke again! It was annoying but the ride was amazing. Susan confirmed this when it ended and it was silent and all you can here was, “Noooo..”in a soft voice. Everyone in the room was cracking up.

After a WHOLE day at Animal Kingdom, we ran to Magic Kingdom to catch the new fireworks show and dinner at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant. I got a litttttle tipsy which led to lots of laughs and singing at the top of our lungs to old school Miley Cyrus in the car.

Day 3

Our last official day of vacation and Disney was spent at the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot and like 10 minutes at Hollywood Studios.

I loved my outfit this day. Decked out in cherries and wine corks, it was my kind of outfit.  We rode Soarin’ and Frozen but with lots of eating in between.

The food was good but my feet couldn’t keep up with me. Next time, I am going to wear my Nike’s no matter how ugly they will look with my outfits. After this, Susan and Andrea were feeling nice so we ran to Hollywood Studios to catch Fantasmic..we missed it so we split up and went on different rides.

Andrea, Jackie, and I rode Toy Story Mania while the other three maniacs went to Tower of Terror and Rockin Rollercoaster. Once we finished, we headed to Disney Springs. I surprisingly didn’t buy anything other than some Rose Gold Ears and lots of food.

It was an amazing trip filled with lots of laughs, childish fun, and dressing up. I can’t wait to do it again. I don’t ever want to grow up–who wants to!?

Until next time, Disney.
