Banana Republic’s new campaign Your Life. Styled. features contemporary and super versatile pieces that are perfect for any occasion or situation. I’ve always been a huge Banana Republic fan (it was my first job ever during my high school years) so when I was approached to try their new pieces, how could I say no?
It’s been a whirlwind of a year but I can’t believe that this blog that I had originally made for myself has grown into something that I am proud to call my own. It isn’t perfect but it’s mine and that’s all the matters. As celebration for my own 21st birthday, I headed down to Atlantic City and as promised I am going to give an outfit of the night!
Thank you to all my faithful readers and to all the new readers, I wouldn’t be this proud without you all.
Hello Spices, I apologize in the lack of fashion posts. All these classes are really kicking my butt already and I’ve had quite a bit of writers’ block. Not good. I am back and I am really happy to say that this is the conclusion to the Back to School Fashion Series. You can check back at the other 3 posts at the top of my blog. The last in my series? Jackets!
Hello Spices! I know school is approaching fast and it is officially back to school shopping time so I wanted to show you the different boots and booties there are out there, somewhere. Fall isn’t fall without all the beautiful boots and ankle booties. They just scream fall to me and I get really excited seeing less flip flops and more heels.
Hello my little spices! There are some exciting times brewing at Sartorial Spice as the weather begins to show signs of cooling down. I’ve finally gone self-hosted! So you can expect a lot more giveaways and maybe a guest blogger or two.
Today, I woke up and was surprised by how chilly it was outside. Fall is arriving and there is no stopping it! I’ve decided to make a series of Back to School Fashions complete with product sets and some of my favorite items out there. There will be items of every budget but I will of course try to hit below the $100 or $200 marks. I do know some ladies love to splurge on shoes though, so those will be the priciest items.
It never ceases to amaze me to see stripes nearly every season. I am a sucker for stripes. Every time I walk into a store, I find myself gravitating towards a mound of striped shirts. I am a moth to a light bulb. They go with pretty much anything and they really are what I consider, a basic.
Disclaimer: I am in no way sponsoring Sephora, Too Faced, Godiva, or Baublebar. I am simply recounting the event for your enjoyment.
Hello Spice Girls & Guys! It’s been a busy and hectic week for me as I’ve been interning, running around the city in 97+ degree weather and planning outfits for events left and right. I received an email from Sephora as all VIBs (Very Important Beauty Insiders) do and it was for an event happening on July 18th. I rushed to the phone and reserved my spot for my cousin and I.
The weather yesterday was brutal with real feel temperatures of 100+. So needless to say, I am looking less than cute with sweat pouring down my face and my chunky arms out for the world to see. It’s ok though, I survived.
I have a love-hate relationship with July 4th. I love the energy, the patriotism, and the fireworks. I hate the traffic, the closed roads, traffic, and the fashion.
I am all for showing off the colors but sometimes I cringe when I see some people leave their house in red pants, an American flag pasted on a t-shirt, and a bunch of American flag accessories. I don’t mind if you wear a flag..as long as you do it in a subtle way.
Here are a few outfits I put together for a cute fourth of July!
There are so many ways to dress up and have a great July 4th! What are you going to do on the 4th of July? Do you have your outfit planned?
The best thing about this day? The food and the time spent with family! Try to make it the best you can…and if you don’t have anything planned then it’s a great day to just snuggle in bed and watch some great movie re-runs!
Summer is finally among us! With this hot weather new fashion choices and trends are available to us. Upon researching, some of the top trends for this summer are: Bold Stripes, Overalls, Midi Skirts, Lucite, Leather, and Mixed Prints.
I absolutely love midi skirts as most of the skirts in my closet are in fact midi’s. I find that they are modest and airy. You don’t have to wear mini’s to get the same breeze. I also find that I like to be a little more covered as I am considered plus size. I will all do you a favor and try not to flash you in short skirts.
Summer just screams stripes. Stripes are nautical and very summery. Stripes are always thin but I am loving this bold stripe. Bold stripes are more flattering than their thinner counterparts, plus it’s a great way to be adventurous and bold without stepping out of your comfort zone. Stripes are always in trends and will continue to be so.
Lucite is very modern and cool. It reminds me of the matrix or just very nice, modern decor. I love how they are incorporating it into our wardrobe and adding it to shoes or jewelry. It adds a great amount of interest to any outfit and I hope to rock it this summer.
Mixed prints have been something that I’ve always wanted to do. This summer the trick is to pair different sized prints with one another so that it looks intentional. I’ve found that it’s a bit difficult to do. You might end up like a clown. I think I will take a pass on this trend and pair my prints with a basic.
I’m a 90s baby, so I vividly remember wearing overalls and even have a 2nd grade photograph with me wearing some. I shudder just looking at them. Overalls are not flattering and are not visually appealing. I can’t believe these are back, I just want to burn all of them. They are only okay to wear if you are painting or doing some dirty work. I also find them incredibly annoying when you have to go to the bathroom. Enough said. Take them back.
Leather in the summer? I don’t know if I want to fry. Yes, I love leather for winter, fall, and sometimes in the spring but in the summer? I don’t think I want to fry in 90-100 degree weather in the name of fashion. Maybe a leather bracelet is a great way to incorporate it but never a leather jacket, leather skirt, or pant.
I tried to make outfits to show how you can style them. I just couldn’t bring myself to make one for overalls. Be gone! What do you think of these trends?
I SERIOUSLY need to invest in a new camera. I have my internship to go to and it’s in a pearl wholesaler, so I have to look a bit more polished and professional.
The great thing is that they don’t mind if I wear prints so I pulled out this floral Jason Wu for Target skirt and paired it with a simple black t-shirt. I paired it with my Jason Wu for Target cardigan, belted the skirt and shirt, and slipped on some navy blue flats. I’m all for comfort especially for when I have to literally run through the city. I cannot walk in heels for my life, so flats are my go to. I think I should also invest in some nice flats that are worth a bit more money.
The finishing touch was my white necklace from Charming Charlie, it adds a bit of glitz and glam and I think it balances it out quite nicely.
