Black & White

As I have mentioned in a previous post, I absolutely love the black and white trend.  It’s crisp, clean, and classy! I found these adorable pants at JCP (They aren’t that bad, trust me) and had to wear them to an interview! I paired them with a light grey/mint blouse that has a great pleated back. I’m just excited to see what else I can pair these pants with! What I love the most about these pants, are the print. I am a sucker for a good, versatile print.

OOTD: Camo-Love

photo(33)Sadly, I still don’t have my camera or a partner to take my pictures…so I will have to make due with what I have! I am a college student after all. Now that spring has arrived, the weather is quite temperamental.  The best thing to have in spring is a thin jacket. I got my camo jacket from Gap. I do work there, so it’s best I represent the company and wear them to work! My bag is from Francesca’s collection, which was 30% (yay savings!). Do you like the camo look? What would you pair with it?

OOTD: Print

A few days ago I was overjoyed to see that it was 62 degrees outside after a long, long winter. I went for more of a Fall look but that’s what it felt like! I was only going over to someones house so no need to go crazy!

OOTD: Interview Outfit #2

Yesterday, I went to another internship interview. I was growing tired of the all black ensemble and so I decided it would be best to incorporated some color and style into it.

I was on my way out, so ignore the less than desirable backdrop!

I was wearing: Mint/Seafoam Green Sleeveless Blouse from Target, Black Skinny Pants from Gap, Black Wedges from Payless, Bubble Bib Necklace from Charming Charlie, and Black Blazer from Forever21+.

A closeup of the color of the shirt and the necklace 🙂

I went a little trendy with the color and the necklace underneath the collar. I didn’t show the back but its a hi-low shirt with a pleated waterfall back. I was interviewing in the fashion industry so I thought it was OK.

What do you think of the outfit? What is your go-to interview outfit?I would love to hear!

Interview Outfit

So, yesterday I had two internship interviews..on opposite sides of NYC. I am not one who likes taking the subway so I WALKED across town and back, needless to say I can barely move today.

I had fashion internship interviews but I like dressing up opposed to risking it and dressing in some jeans and booties or some cute shirt. I went with an all black ensemble, natural makeup, and minimum jewelry except for my statement necklace. I wish I could have taken a better photo but I need to have someone do them for me. Hopefully soon!

Again, I apologize for the terrible photo and I will try to see if I can get someone to be my photographer.

Black & White

One of my favorite spring trends this year is black and white. I love that we are using staple colors and not a seasonal color such as emerald or that specific tangerine color. It gives the wearer a polished look and there are a variety of ways you can change it up. What is the best thing about this trend is that you probably have black and white in your closet already, so no need to purchase more!

There are many ways to wear it and really, the sky is the limit! What do you think of this versatile and minimalist trend?

Outfit of the Day: Out to Dinner

I thought I would look casual to go out as it was rather cold out. I wanted to tone down the toughness of the leather I was wearing that day. I had a Faux leather Jacket from Forever 21+,a Faux leather satchel from Topshop (that I no longer have :(), and Silk goat leather boots from Vince Camuto. I added a little playfulness with the polka dot shirt I purchased from Gap.

As for lipstick, I’m wearing my favorite shade from Lancome’s Rouge In Love line. I am sucker for Emma Watson, so when I heard she was producing this line with Lancome, I ran to my nearest Nordstrom. It’s Fiery Attitude; its a deep berry and very long lasting.

I do wish I had added a cute necklace but I was in a rush and ended up covering my neck with a thick white snood. What I love about the Vince Camuto boots that you can’t see here is the heels.

I might snag another pair if I can!

I am going to try to do more photos of myself as well as photos of trips at the city when the weather warms up; unfortunately another storm is on it’s way!

Sheaths + Sweaters=The Perfect Pair

Sheath dresses are a great for work but we tire of the same look over and over. Why not pair sweaters with your dress to make for a cute and different outfit.

Belt it!

Belt it! Belting an open cardigan over your dress makes you look neat and polished while giving you more of a shape. You can pair any color with this black sheath. We also have a Riley Sheath that is very similar.

Casual Sheath

Add a Chunky Sweater A chunky sweater breaks up the dress and makes it much more casual. You can add some cute flats or heels if you prefer. Add a cute belt to the look and you have an amazing outfit!

Colorblock Outfit: Sheath Dress

 Flowy Cardigan
Leave your flowy cardigan unbelted to let it skim your body and make the illusion of a longer torso. This colorful outfit is great to go out or let out your wild side at work. I also find color blocking is a great look especially if the dress is black.

Sheath dresses are the best dress to layer sweaters and cardigans over. You have many styles to choose from: boxy, flawy, buttoned, boyfriend, etc.
You can make a number of outfits from the same dress and different sweater. Try it out!

xoxo,

Dylan
