Fashion week. The oh-so-exclusive event that many dream of attending. Well, we can say we attended something similar! My partners in crime came along with me as we represented Montclair State University at College Fashion Week. We had no idea what to expect.
Every fashionista dreams of heading to the Big Apple in September or February when FashionWeek is in full swing. But Fashion Week isn’t just a show of style, it’s a crucial time for buyers of big companies like Bloomingdale’s and Bergdorf Goodman to get a peek of the new collection so they could get it into stores when it is actually Fall 2014. It’s a business transaction in sorts but it has since become more than that. Backstage, I saw how everything and everyone. It was really amazing to be standing only inches away from Mark Badgley and James Mischka. I was surprised how organized it was and how calm it all was. There was no screaming or running around, no one was panicking. It was very calm except for the hordes of accepted press squished into the tent, trying to get shots of the designers and a few celebrities that were hanging out.
